November 2021
The construction of a new tailings pond at the LaRonde Mine began in the fall of 2020. The bottom and the dikes were covered with a 1.5 mm thick white low-density polyethylene geomembrane. The services of Groupe Alphard were retained for the quality assurance of the synthetic materials as well as the leak detection by water puddle on the exposed geomembrane. The total area of the portion tested in 2021 was 186,100 m2.
