Mining

Groupe Alphard’s experience in providing ELL services to firms in Canada’s mining industry is unmatched. We have performed water puddle and dipole surveys of a wide range of mining industry installations, including tailings ponds, dikes, and treatment ponds, as well as HDPE and bituminous geomembrane layers used in final caps.

OUR PROJECTS

Oil & Gas

ELL surveys in the Oil & Gas sector are commonly used to validate the integrity of secondary containment ponds around storage tanks; these ponds need to have the same capacity as the tank in case of a spill and must be regularly checked to ensure imperviousness. Groupe Alphard have also conducted ELL surveys on double-lined sludge ponds in the Fort McMurray region.

OUR PROJECTS

Waste

Groupe Alphard regularly receive ELL survey requests from clients in the waste management sector. In most cases, these projects relate to the construction or expansion of waste or contaminated soil landfill facilities, including the addition or maintenance of project critical leachate ponds We have also seen an increase in requests related to composting pads, hazardous waste confinement facilities, and permanent caps.

OUR PROJECTS

Water

The importance of secure water storage facilities is only increasing, and adequate management of these facilities is essential. The number of ELL applications in the water treatment sector is vast, including potable water reservoirs, dams, evaporation ponds, buffer ponds (to prevent storm drain flooding), snow storage pads and many more.

OUR PROJECTS

Other

A wide range of non-environmental projects also require ELL to ensure the integrity of their impermeable elements. These include underground parking lots impervious to gas infiltration, artificial lakes on golf courses, green roofs, and artificial ponds in residential and commercial developments.
