LEAK LOCATION BY ARC TESTING AND DIPOLE IN A NEW LANDFILL OF CONTAMINATED SOILS IN BÉCANCOUR

A new contaminated soil burial site was opened in 2020 in Bécancour, Québec, Canada. In order to ensure the overall quality of the structure and also to comply with the regulations on contaminated soils, each phase 1 geomembrane was tested after its installation and after the installation of the drainage and protection layer. The leachate pond has only one geomembrane as the top layer and has therefore only had one leak detection survey. The cell’s area is 12,500 m² and the pool is 3,200 m².
